Painting Everything Radiant Yellow

Rise Up! "We're gonna, rise up, rise up" (join in if you too have been watching a lot of Hamilton this year)....

I can't think of better lyrics to sing waking up this New Year's Day morning!

I AM READY...to take a SHOT on this New Year!

During the month of December I was amazed at the glorious almost surreal sunrises here in Indiana. If you are not an early riser - PERHAPS this should be your New Year's RESOLUTION. You are really missing out on the GREATEST SHOW on EARTH by sleeping in and missing these morning skies!

We are fortunate to have a few local photographers here (Kitty Stoeppelwerth and Gareth Wilford) that have captured some of these amazing sunrises over the lake near my home. With their permission, these images have provided much inspiration for some of my recent paintings. I am working on a new series of contemporary landscape paintings for an upcoming show in April. The paintings are observations of the skies, nature and my adventures outdoors. Here are a few sneak peaks...(Check back later for more details on the April Show).

Early mornings is when I am typically in the studio painting. Watching the sunrise is    my most favorite part of the day. I love to set my intentions for the day during this time and give thanks for what I have been given the day before.

Today I have so much to be thankful for. 2020 was incredibly difficult for so many.

Like many of you, we also have many close friends and family greatly impacted by the Covid Pandemic. My prayers continue to go out to all of you that may have had to deal with health issues, financial issues or the loss of loved ones. I pray for better days for all in the New Year.

This morning I thought of one thing I can do with my art that might help to spread more joy in the New Year.  I am calling this year, my year of Painting "Everything Radiant Yellow" -  I hope you will join me in keeping those that might need more sunshine in their days in 2021.

As I paint, I will try to add a touch of "Radiant Yellow" (however that may artistically speak to me) to each painting. It will be a way I intentionally think of all of you that may be trying to recover from this most difficult year we have endured. I hope that each of you too can find your own way to keep all of those hurting in your thoughts and prayers as well. It really is time for us to come together and RISE UP!

Thank you again for coming to my website over and over. For supporting my art and mostly for being my friend.

I wish you sunshine, peace and joy in the New Year.
